Three Rivers Community Action

Three Rivers Community Action provides services to low-income citizens and the community at large in Northfield, Rice County, Goodhue, Olmsted, and Wabasha Counties.  We develop housing, provide services to the homeless including Transitional Housing and Permanent Supportive Housing, provide Energy Assistance, Weatherization, Head Start, Transit services, and MNsure and SNAP (Food Support) application assistance.

HOPE Center

Creates zero tolerance for sexual and domestic violence through Healing, Outreach, Prevention and Education. Provides direct support to victims of violence in Rice County; collaborative support to other organizations that serve victims; and educational support to the entire community.

All of HOPE Center’s services are free and confidential.

Community Action Center

The Community Action Center promotes a healthy, caring and just community for all people. The CAC meets basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter; provides crisis support, transportation, and services designed to facilitate neighbors helping neighbors. Included in programming: Northfield Works, the Food Shelf and emergency financial assistance.

Children Thrive
Enhances the well-being of families and builds self-esteem for kids. Programs include Operation Backpack, Christmas Sharing, Thursday’s Table community meals, and youth volunteer opportunities.

Vital Communities
Recruits, trains, and manages volunteers across CAC programs. Builds relationship networks across the community to address economic and social challenges.

Homes for All
Provides emergency shelter, transitional housing for homeless families, and permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless people with mental illness. All housing programs include case management services to foster self-sufficiency.

Growing Up Healthy

Supports teams of Neighborhood Leaders in the Viking Terrace and Jefferson Square neighborhoods who serve as advocates and community organizers. Growing Up Healthy hosts “bonding” activities to foster a sense of community and “bridging” events to build relationships with other Northfield residents.

HealthFinders

HealthFinders provides free primary medical and dental care services, diabetes management, wellness education and advocacy services for those in our local community with limited healthcare alternatives. We have a medication assistance program offering prescriptions free of charge to any uninsured resident of Rice County. Our two primary care clinics are located in both Dundas and Faribault along with a dental clinic only in Faribault.
